[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/63916466[/vimeo]Jay Zhang is not just at Carolina to learn, he’s here to discover.

“When you’re in class reading a textbook, you’re actually reading knowledge that is a few years behind,” Zhang says. “So I wanted to get onto the very edge of research and see what’s happening now.”

His curiosity has already generated exciting accomplishments. In 2012, he received a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship grant to pursue research on a RNA sequencing simulator. Eager to spread the word about all the research opportunities available to undergraduates, Zhang recently became an undergraduate research ambassador.
