A new technique has given researchers a "big picture" look at the genome of the AIDS virus, the first time its entire gene map has been decoded..."We are hopeful that this is going to open up many new opportunities for drug discovery," Kevin Weeks, a chemist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, who led the research, said. The study was published in the Aug. 6 edition of the journal, Nature.
