Dear colleagues,
Last Wednesday, July 31, faculty and instructors (including graduate teaching assistants and teaching fellows) should have received an email from Carolina Talent inviting them to complete a 25-minute training on how to handle emergency situations in the classroom as an instructor, as well as the below email from the Provost encouraging all faculty members to do the training. (Department managers, please forward this email to graduate teaching assistants in your departments.)
I want to echo Provost Clemens in strongly encouraging you to complete the training in the next week. As instructors, your students look to you as a leader in the classroom, particularly if something unexpected happens.
You can read more about the faculty safety training and other updates from the After-Action Report that was released in May, in this story that published in The Well last week.
One important technical note: The Carolina Talent team would like you to know that you may need to clear your cache and/or use Google Chrome or Firefox to complete the training. A helpful guide is attached [Carolina Ready PDF can be viewed and downloaded here].
Sincerely,
Jim
