Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to share an update in the nomination process for University Distinguished Professorships, for which the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost is currently accepting applications.
We have received additional information regarding the written support from each department’s senior associate dean. The Office of the Provost recommends including a signature line for the senior associate dean’s endorsement on the department chair’s nomination letter to fulfill this requirement.
To allow time for this application component, nominations must be submitted to the Dean’s Office no later than Monday, October 28 at 5 p.m. This will ensure applications can be submitted in full to the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost by the final deadline of October 31.
Please send nominations awaiting a senior associate dean’s signature to Will Black, executive assistant to the dean, at wblack@email.unc.edu.
For more information regarding University Distinguished Professorship nominations, the original message from the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost, which was sent on October 1, is included below.
Sincerely,
Jim
