Dear colleagues,
The College of Arts and Sciences is launching its first seed funding program in Spring 2025.
The initiative, championed by Dean Jim White and the Office of Research and Innovation, aims to expand the University’s research portfolio by:
- Boosting the availability of resources for faculty to achieve high-quality scholarship, creative work and research projects.
- Championing community transformation efforts that positively impact the lives and futures of North Carolinians and global populations.
- Encouraging cross-campus, interdisciplinary collaboration and relationship-building efforts.
- Supporting mid- and senior-level faculty in achieving prestigious nominations for research and scholarship societies.
The program will invest up to $25,000 for “seed projects” led by individual or multi-disciplinary teams of faculty and researchers in the Fine Arts and Humanities, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and Social Sciences and Global Programs. Applicants should be field contributors who push boundaries ideologically or unconventionally by merging bold and creative approaches through artistic, scientific or humanistic perspectives.
The proposal portal will open January 8, 2025, and applications will be due March 19, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
Please refer to the website for eligibility requirements and additional program details and see the attached document.
