In 2024, 32 UNC-Chapel Hill faculty made Clarivate’s list of Highly Cited Researchers, recognizing those who have demonstrated significant and broad influence in their fields of study.

Each researcher on the list has authored multiple papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for their field and publication year in Clarivate’s Web of Science platform over the past decade. The list is then refined using qualitative analysis and expert judgment, observing for evidence of community-wide recognition from an international and wide-ranging network of citing authors.

This year, 6,636 individual researchers from 59 countries earned the distinction.
