Lachonya Williams, Associate Dean for Human Resources
Lachonya Williams is an alumna of the College of Arts and Sciences, earning her bachelor’s in communication. Since 2007, she has held administrative positions at UNC in the School of Education and Carolina Population Center, before joining the College’s Dean’s Office in 2011.
Since joining the College, she has held leadership positions on the College’s Business Operations team, which includes financial planning, budgeting and human resources aspects of the College. She has been instrumental in establishing the shared services model in the College for processing human resources and accounting transactions for the departments in the College.
She holds a master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Western Carolina University and a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification. She was awarded the Chancellor’s Outstanding Encouragement of Learning and Development Award in 2015. She is currently a steering committee member for the Carolina Black Caucus, chair of the UNC HR Business Process & Technology Committee and has membership on the UNC Finance Council Budget Subcommittee, Carolina HR Council, Finance Council, Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), College & University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) and the Mebane State Employees’ Credit Union Advisory Board.
