The Diversity Liaison program was established in the College of Arts and Sciences in 2012 and has been successful in creating a network of faculty who are committed to advancing diversity and inclusion in their departments and throughout the College. Diversity liaisons are appointed by chairs and directors of units in the College.

Diversity Liaisons are leaders for diversity, equity and inclusion within a given unit or department. The primary roles for the Diversity Liaison are: 1) advocating for equity in review processes and policy development within their home departments/units; 2) supporting the department chair or unit director in forwarding DEI goals and mission for the unit; and 3) staying updated both on the College’s DEI practices, policies and the unit’s work in DEI for the purposes of gathering and sharing information.
