Gifts to the College of Arts and Sciences play a vital role in sustaining and enhancing the unique liberal-arts programs that are the hallmarks of the Carolina experience. Private giving provides the College with the resources we need to fund our highest priorities, including recruiting and retaining exceptional faculty, enhancing student engagement, deepening academic excellence and achieving global impact. With more than 16,000 undergraduates, about 2,700 graduate students, and nearly 1,000 faculty teaching nearly 90 percent of all undergraduate credit hours, that’s no small feat.

My biggest challenge as dean is finding ways to support our students and faculty, especially in this economy. Whether you give to the Annual Fund, support your favorite department or establish a named endowment or expendable fund, please know that your gift has an enormous impact on our ability to provide an environment of learning, discovery and innovation where our students can excel and grow.

Thank you for your support of the College.

Kevin M. Guskiewicz
Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences
