WCHL chats with UNC-Chapel Hill psychologist Kurt Gray, director of UNC’s Center for the Science of Moral Understanding, whose new book is “Outraged: Why We Fight About Morality and Politics and How to Find Common Ground.” They discuss the science behind our increasing political polarization – including some surprisingly positive findings about crime and safety, and why that might actually make it harder for us to get along – and what we can do, with others and within ourselves, to try to move past that polarization.
