‘Down East’ immersion enriches K-12 teachers’ N.C. knowledge and spirits
Carolina K-12, a program based in the College of Arts and Sciences, hosted a summer retreat for educators from around the state, immersing them in the history and culture of Beaufort, Harkers Island and Cape Lookout.
“There are benefits to immersing teachers in a place — being in person and able to engage with your peers,” said Paul Bonnici, special projects coordinator for Carolina K-12 and Carolina Public Humanities. “You can share the experience in a way you cannot on Zoom.”
