The Persian Studies program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill recently hosted a virtual symposium entitled “Revisiting Discourses of Love, Sex, and Desire in Modern Iran and the Diaspora.” 

Intellectual rigor was met with collegial support at a University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill joint symposium with King’s College London on political change in Eastern Europe in Spring 2020. 

There have been more than 1,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in poultry and other meat processing plants in North Carolina, and over 10,000 cases across the United States. The industry is the subject of UNC-Chapel Hill anthropologist Angela Stuesse’s scholarly work.
