A new NEH grant will support UNC scholars’ creation of an immersive web environment designed to bring Jane Austen’s writing room — and her world — to life.

The Jane Austen Summer Program returned this year after a hiatus due to COVID-19. The symposium for fans of the 19th-century English author participated in an interactive mystery, writing and costuming workshops, film screenings, a Regency ball, a Sunday tea and more.

Energized by a lively series on “Race and the Regency,” “Bridgerton” buzz and an interactive murder mystery, the Jane Austen Summer Program makes its virtual debut.
