UNC-Chapel Hill has grown research activity by $190M, pushing the University into the top 10 research institutions in the U.S. by volume and annual expenditures.

Numerous University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduate programs received 2024 high rankings – 20 were among the top 10 in the nation in their respective categories – as part of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools” list.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ranked 29th in the world and 20th in the United States among global universities, according to the 2021 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
