The applied mathematics professor in the College of Arts and Sciences stressed the importance of community in accepting the honor Dec. 13.

Former Employee Forum chair and Massey Award winner Shayna Hill has tirelessly advocated for University staff during a dark and difficult period. Hill is manager for statistics and operations research in the College.

Alyssa Cooper has been working with Southern Bridge International’s Prego Club, which focuses on helping pregnant or post-partum Japanese women in the Triangle navigate the American medical system.
