The General Alumni Association Board of Directors in May presented its 2022 Distinguished Service Medals to two alumni. The recipients were Patricia Ann Timmons-Goodson ’76 (’79 JD), of Fayetteville, and Terry Ellen Rhodes ’78, of Chapel Hill.
I am writing today to let you know that I will be retiring as dean and as a faculty member of the College of Arts & Sciences at the end of this academic year.
Terry Rhodes, dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, has decided to retire at the end of the academic year after a remarkable 34-year career at Carolina. Her term will end June 2022.
She joined the faculty in 1987 and is the first faculty member from the fine arts to be named dean of the College since it took its modern-day name in 1935.
