After four days of attempts and decades of calls for it, the granite pillar holding the statue of a Confederate soldier on the Capitol grounds in Raleigh is gone. This particular monument went up more than 100 years ago for very specific reasons. History professor Harry Watson joined WRAL News to discuss those reasons.
