Beginning this fall, the College of Arts and Sciences’ department of applied physical sciences will offer a B.S. in applied sciences that connects engineering to the liberal arts.
Thirty-three students — both graduate and undergraduate — have received prestigious awards from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) for their research in STEM-related fields, including chemistry, geography, neuroscience and more.
Mike Piehler has been contributing to research at Carolina for 25 years. He was recently featured in the Office of UNC Research’s feature “Rooted.”
