Heidi Kim, director of Carolina’s new Asian American Center, discusses how the center’s first few months went during the pandemic, the rise in anti-Asian racism and violence nationally and locally, and a resulting “silver lining” for the center.
The celebration is led by the UNC Asian American Center, which was founded in 2020. The Carolina Asia Center is also hosting a series of events April 19-25.
The new Asian American Center launches a new website and its first programming this week.
