The prestigious award fully funds a master’s program in global affairs at Beijing’s Tsinghua University. All three have ties to the College of Arts and Sciences.

Nine Tar Heels have received scholarships and fellowships from the Boren Awards, matching last year’s record-breaking total. Carolina was once again honored as a top-producing institution for Boren Scholars.

Nicholas Boyer, a rising senior at UNC-Chapel Hill double majoring in chemistry and computer science in the College of Arts and Sciences, was selected to receive a 2024 Barry Goldwater Scholarship.
