New faculty member and director of the Glee Club, Sean Grier, puts student experience first.

Singer-songwriter Rissi Palmer visited Professor Jocelyn Neal’s songwriting class in early October, opening up about her journey in the industry and the lessons she’s learned along the way.

Funded by Arts Everywhere and the music department, the student orchestra commissioned a new piece from Durham Symphony conductor and composer William Henry Curry.

The 43rd annual Carolina Jazz Festival will take place from Thursday, Feb. 20, to Saturday, Feb. 22. Jim Ketch, the department’s director of jazz studies, will lead the festival for the final time.
