As the bass player of the Carolina Bluegrass Band, senior Lewis Nazarian found a new space to explore music.
Even though he’s been a musician most of his life, Lewis Nazarian ’23 never expected to play in a bluegrass band. But the Carolina senior has found a passion for the genre as a bass player in the music department’s Carolina Bluegrass Band.
“I had the opportunity to join an ensemble that has a lot of great people and really fun music,” Nazarian said. “It gave me the ability to A) Think about music as something more than just something I listen to on my walk to class, and B) It gave me an idea of what music is as an art, but also as a science.”
