Grauer will be in conversation with Dean Jim White; a Q&A will follow the talk.

Grauer (English ’68) also received a graduate degree from Harvard Business School’s Program for Management Development. He leads Bloomberg, the global financial technology company that was founded in 1981.

Grauer has been a member of the Bloomberg board of directors since 1996 and was named chairman of the board in March 2001, succeeding Michael R. Bloomberg. Grauer joined Bloomberg full time as chairman, president and CEO in March 2002.

He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of UNC-Chapel Hill and many other entities. He is a recipient of the William Richardson Davie Award and the Dean’s Distinguished Service Award and was inducted into the North Carolina Media and Journalism Hall of Fame.

The Frey professorship brings to campus renowned leaders in a variety of fields, including government, public policy, international affairs and the arts.
