The acting class for non-actors

William Shakespeare famously captured the theatricality of life when he wrote, “All the world’s a stage,” and this summer, Carolina students enrolled in the drama elective “Beginning Acting for Non-Drama Majors” have been learning just how apt that maxim is.

UNC professor and MIT team take microscopic physics to the macro scale

A hundred years after the birth of quantum mechanics, a UNC mathematics professor has utilized a new hydrodynamic system to visualize behaviors reminiscent of electronic spin systems, providing new insight into how particles may operate on the quantum level.

Drinking among first-year college students decreases during pandemic

First-year college students are reporting drinking less alcohol and having fewer episodes of binge drinking four months into the coronavirus pandemic than they were before the pandemic started, according to a study by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
